BLATAH UPDATE Feb.3rd
Server is still down, so here the text updates will continue. If you are ART deprived, check out my Deviant Art Gallery Had a slight back injury earlier this week, so sorry if I have been rather conspicuously absent... not been sitting at my compy much and when I am hyped up on meds so not particularly talkative.

NEXT UPDATE - Cut for length:

Amanda frowned, arms crossed in her irritation.

"This wasn't part of the deal mage." She let out a hiss and a low imprecation, not liking the idea of being forced to stay. "You were to look out for my guild.... to see they weren't punished. I have heard nothing from them, and here you expect me to wait even longer?"

Drayton didn't turn to face her, intent on reading his scrying sphere. Dark red hair trailed loose and unconcerned a scowl slowly forming. Rana had clearly shown her hand, betrayed him and chosen... what, to take Liam in as a new acolyte? She couldn't be as foolish as to think the man's arrogance would brooch such imposition. And where was the elf's shadow, Quinn? Nowhere to be seen.

"Our arrangement was satisfactory at the time, woman. You will stay here until I am certain that you carry his child within, and you give birth. Afterwards feel free to crawl back to that foxhole for all I care. In the meantime, I am justified in protecting that which is precious to my ends." Even if it grew even now within the woman. He could feel the presence... so like Eggman's when he'd found the bard -still a child- within the ruins of the passes, coccooned in his mother's magic. Tier na Lua had done much to protect the boy, and even then --- before Drayton's own change --- he'd known him unique.

"IT is not satisfactory!" Her growl was unmistakable, green eyes blazing. " Listen.. I'm not a mother, do you understand?I do not particularly care for a parasite within me any longer than necessary. If you don't agree to my terms, I can still -end- this." She paused, eyes narrowed to watch him, and at this he did turn, anger brewing.

"You threaten me?" That thought was almost amusing. Her guild had been the first he'd turned within the catacombs, had offered to Rana to secure -her- aid. There would be little left for the thief even now. "We are in Taluzan. Here you hold no power, woman, and do not forget that I am not so easily betrayed."

"Listen--" She hissed in a breath, her protest and invectives cut short as strong hands clamped on her wrists and pulled her arms to her sides. She winced as a shiver went up and down her spine. She was a trained thief, risen through the ranks of her guild quickly, trained to pick up the slightest sound that might be out of place - a shuffle of cloth, a slow intake of breath.

Whoever held her wasn't breathing.

The realization hit her as green eyes widened, witchfire bright, and her head tilted to the impassive statue of flesh that held her in a cold, deliberate grip.

Paye.

Colour fled her face as ice spiderwebbed a trail over her veins, the mad drumming of her pulse a sharp contrast to the unnatural stillness of the other. Golem. Golem. The cry of horror died and was subsumed, a muttered groan sneaking out as her legs weakened, buckled.

"You remember Liam's Shadow, do you not?" Drayton's voice drifted in with amused detachment as he slung a gaze over a shoulder. "Golem. See she stays in the east wing. Bind her to the bed, if necessary, but I need the child within. You may not kill her until then."

With that he turned back to old memories and new plans to be laid, deaf to the shrieks that echoed through the halls as she was dragged away.
